In 2005 L.A.M.P. Community Youth Programs were
chosen by the Acton Institute as one of the top 10 organizations in the country for helping people come to help themselves
L.A.M.P. founders Ruben and Mary Mauricio received
the Hearts of Gold award from Hands on Hall County and in were honored by the National Organization for the Education
of Homeless Children and Youth as the outstanding individuals in the country in helping Homeless children and youth.
in 2000 they received the I CARE award for outstanding demonstration of the love and care of Jesus Christ,
Wendy Franklin L.A.M.P. Community Youth Outreach
Director received the 2005 I CARE AWARD for her outstanding demonstration of the love and care of Christ. Wendy has been a
volunteer with L.A.M.P for more than 6 years. She also works full time for the GA Department of Juvenile Justice at RYDC.
Olivia Mendoza L.A.M.P. graduate and ongoing
volunteer was elected to the Northeast GA Honor Roll of Caring in 2005 for her help to L.A.M.P. and other community organizations.
Olivia was homeless when a friend brought her to the L.A.M.P. youth program. She found help and changed her life so
much that she was selected as the most improved student at Gainesville High at the end of that school year. The next
year while still in high school she receved the prestigious LeTendre national scholarship. She graduated from Gainesville
High with 13 honors.
