Thank You Jackson EMC
In January,2007 a $15,000  grant from Jackson EMC Operation Round Up helped assure the continuation of  L.A.M.P. Community Youth Outreach Program for another year.

THANK YOU JEMC

This grant helped enable L.A.M.P. to continue to serve the most at risk teens and preteens in Hall County and surrounding areas.

More than 100 young people and their families will benefit from the grant directly,   The whole community will also benefit.  L.A.M.P. Community Youth Outreach Program has been called the best answer to gang violence and the waste of young lives by schools, law enforcement, and community agencies.

Living on the street may seem fun in summer

But it can turn hard and mean very quickly

These guys were in a gang when they came to L.A.M.P.    The gang had become their family but it was cold and the family had no where to go so they came to us together and defiant.

Social researchers say that every young person who enters a gang will influence 5 more towards gang activity and every young person who leaves a gang and has a productive life will influence at least that many others away from gangs.   We can not afford to ignore or throw away these children.

Group sessions and field trips gain and hold interest and provide opportunities to invite friends.  Participants and their families also receive individual help.  Community Service projects are fun.  Even more importantly they offer opportunities for young people to feel worthwhile and special and be part of the solutions not just part of the problems.

88% of L.A.M.P. Youth Outreach Program partcipants stopped being involved in gangs and other illegal activities, over 80% lived out more positive helpful attitudes at school, work, and in the community, more than 95% returned to or stayed in school or job or GED training, more than 70% began earning honor grades.

We appreciate this free site at Tripod.  Because it is free we have no control over the ads nor do we in any way promote, endorse, or have any association with what is advertised. Some of the ads seem to be for youth programs that are very different from L.A.M.P. which may or may not offer real help to troubled youth and their families.
