Residential Care provides a safe place for
teen and preteen girls to stay and build their life. At this time we can serve only a small number of girls because
of space limitations and because having a family setting is important.
Right now there are 7 girls ages 9-17 staying at L.A.M.P.
These are the girls who are most troubled, most endanger, or have the fewest other options. They may be runaways.
Their family may be homeless. they may have been abused at home. Their parents may be unable to control them or they
may have no hiome and family.
Many have been living on the street. Girls this age can not support,
take care of, and protect themselves so they often get involved with gangs as a substitute family, They are very vulnerable
to exploitation and abuse.
They have hurts that only Christ can truely heal. As they exerience
His love day by day through the care they receive at L.A.M.P. they learn that they are worth caring about and that they can
love themselves and others. We have seen many lives change dramatically. It is not easy for a young girl to totally
change her life. But it is possible with Christ's love.
L.A.M.P. provides a firm foundation and structure and the tools to help build
a life that is a blessing to the young lady and to the community in which she lives.
L.A.M.P. needs a larger facility with more room so we can better serve the girls
who live here and can help more young people. We would also like to have a place to offer a home to boys.
The first "LAMP KIDS" were boys. You can meet Eric, the first "LAMP KID" on our changed lives page. In regular
families boys and girls brothers and sisters can share together as a family. At this point space limitations and other
considerations make it necessary that we serve only one gender or the other but we are hoping and praying that in the future
that will change.
